Red runs faster

I remember a lecturer I had in my postgrad course. A smart and funny guy, one of my favorites, he's young and talented with loads of experiences working in multinatinal companies. He likes to tell stories, especially the ones involving the women in his life. One of his stories started like this "There are 2 ferraris, one black and one red. They're racing. Who won?" Then everybody came up with different answers with complete justifications. Then he said "the red one, because red is faster". I forgot how the story ends or what he was trying to explain with that story, but I think there are people who think alike.

I was on the highway from Bogor to Jakarta. This small red car overtook me from the left (FYI, the road was kind of empty and that tiny thing came out from nowhere). It has little wings at its toyota logo's right and left sides. I went "Stoopid little car with no manner! He must have no highways where he came from". I drove behind the car, didn't care about its speed and continued singing one of Drive's songs that I was totally in love with.

We were driving rather slow, at about 80-90 km/h, there are no other cars in sight. Roads in Indonesia doesn't have speed limits.. well they do, but everybody makes their own limits. A few minutes later, the car overtook a car in front of it from the left again. And surprise surprise, the car was even a smaller car (a Suzuki ceria). I thought that that Toyota was already small but apparently someone has manufactured something smaller.
Found it so amusing and couldn't stand not taking a photo of the 2 red cars. Hehehe.. so I came up with my own conclusion. Red car drivers think their car are fast, but they aren't necessarily.
