Last week I bid on something and accidentally won it (accidentally because I wasn't really sure whether I wanted the item and yet I clicked on confirm and suddenly the bid ended.. crap!). I was excited enough because I kind of have been wanting that thing, but at the same time not that excited because I felt that I haven't done enough research on it. It's a holgaroid, btw. Holgaroid meaning a Holga camera with a polaroid back, so it can take polaroid films. Before I made the bid, I've found out that it takes only type 80 polaroid films which production has been discontinued due to some mechanical issue of the mechanicality of the mechanicity... hmpft.. but only after I won it that I realize that.. discontinued production means.. I won't find any of those films lying around on any of the shops' shelfs!
Smart eh!
So today, between my attempt of turning Brooke into my human pencil case (by taping a pen and a ruler on her back) and the new budget controller chasing her from one end of the aisle to the other wanting to tell her that she had sticky tapes on her back, I've been looking for that bloody polaroid films online. I found only 1 shop that has it in stock. It's in Austria and the cost to ship the film here is friggin 18 euro. The film itself costs 13 euro and a bundle of 10 costs 124 euro. BOOOOOOOOHHHHOOOOOOO..!
Now, the dilemma lies in whether to keep the camera or to sell it. Looking from an accountant's point of view, the decision leans toward selling, while there is demand still in the market. The films are still available now, but in the next few months they might disappear from the face of the earth and we have nothing to feed the mighty Holgaroid (loving the name! Sounds like a robot mutant.. robot). If I kept it and bought the film online.. the depreciation cost will be pretty high because after I finish the film, Holgaroid will die... of hunger. Now, the question is.. will the photos be worth the price.. and has anyone seen my Nokia cable?!?!?! (that's so irrelevant though)

And meet a very cute dorky Brendan Fraser with a Holgaroid on his hands (grabbed from Scrubs)
