Babel (***)

One of Rolling Stone's 10 best movies of 2006. A movie interlocking stories of 6 different families.

Coming from the same director as 21 Grams, it wasn't really my cup of tea. It is too slow paced and too quiet (like Jap movies.. the pause between someone saying something and someone else replying is just too long), but the story line is interesting, it makes you wonder about what will happen next.

I can see the important connection among stories in Morocco, Mexico, and the States. But I'm pretty sure Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu inserted the story in Japan solely for the purpose of having a chick flashing her crotch - then naked later in the movie. The Japan story is so unnecessary.
